Coring is the easiest and most effective process for recognizing the degradation of pavements. From rigid joint corrosion to stripping in asphalt concrete pavement layers, pavement coring can be used to examine several different pavement distress factors. Surface coring is used to calculate the sheet's thickness and to assess the material quality in each layer. The motive for drilled core testing is usually to determine one or a combination of consistency of the concrete provided for the construction to track the structure's ability to bear the loads placed or to investigate structural degradation due to overload and weathering. The Surface Coring for asphalt, concrete, and other composite pavements is quickly and efficiently carried by a system we built ourselves, we pride ourselves in new efficient hydraulic-powered coring equipment. This in turn will deliver more production in a single day's work. The core Diameter sizing currently available is 2-12".
HydroVac Pre- Coring
Coring services are available for hydro-vac trucks, in cases where hydro-vac excavation is needed on roadways where they are unable to access the base material to uncover utilities, due to asphalt/concrete.
In general, Auger is used for disturbed samples of soil, on or near the surface, and bore to depths where a separate soil sampler or soil core sampler can be collected (SPT). After taking the undisturbed samples you can calculate the void ratio, water content, and plasticity, and liquidity indexes. The bits of the standard soil auger are open so that small clumps and relatively small rocks and particles can join. This approach requires in-situ testing utilizing a power auger of natural gravel, soil, or sand. Such sampling is made for a centerline naturally occurring sample survey or for borrowing pit surveys of subgrades, selected layers, subbases, foundation or fine concrete, or asphalt aggregates.
SPT tests the relative soil density, as you know, by monitoring the number of hammer drops needed to move a sampling split into the dirt. However, the results can differ with manual drop hammers between one operator and the driller. As well as expert operators may sample reliably with a cathead kit, automated hammers transfer more energy and stable energy to the drill rod as the momentum and fall of the hammer is uninfluenced by the operator. This contributes to less energy loss from the hammer due to friction or lateral motion. Owing to the reduced variation in the drop height of the hammer the sample accuracy increases. The most commonly used in-situ test in soil estimations is the Standard Penetration Test (SPT), particularly in non-cohesive soils. This is because the tests are simple and low in cost and the broad range of interactions between SPT blows and material properties are usable. The soil settlement is also the most prominent element in construction following measurements of the SPT value.
We offer coordination, mobilization, and demobilization of manpower and equipment to properly dispose of borehole soil cuttings. Including providing the drums, picking, testing soils for metals, inorganics & VOCs, and disposing of drums and contents to a licensed disposal facility if needed.
The Ministry of Transportation Ontario has strict guidelines for Safely and effectively working on any highway in Ontario.
These challenging jobs require specific backfilling requirements before the highway can re-open to public traffic, Algarve has experience in these types of projects.
Bollards offer versatile benefits across various settings. They enhance security by preventing unauthorized vehicle access, protecting pedestrians, and safeguarding your valuable assets. They can direct traffic flow and designate boundaries, ensuring organized, safe environments. Their aesthetic designs also complement architectural styles, adding a touch of elegance while serving a functional purpose. In sum, bollards provide a blend of safety, efficiency, asset protection, and visual appeal.
